They never have had anyone do this.

When a Quicken guy posted often, on
his own time, he was so often trashed
he finally dropped out. Perhaps such
a person might need company clearance
to respond. Regardless, it is working.

There are few post about this now.

What happens when I re-install?

I just had some work done on my PC and now when I attempt to access
QB2001 I get a message saying the program could not locate the
installation key code. It says I must un-install and re-install QB.
I have my original CD with the installation key code. Is there someway I
can add the key code to the existing QB installation. I am very hesitant
about deleting and then reinstalling the entire program. If I must, what
do I do to make sure all of the preferences and templates and data etc
will still be as they last were? What files should I backup? Any
additional advice or suggestions you can think of?

T4 Summary missing information

Any idea why item 82 on the T4 Summary would not be there? It seems
stupid to provide a T4 summary report and not calculate total payroll
remittances for the year… Am I missing something?

What is QBDAGE~1.EXE?

I am running QuickBooks Pro 2001 on Windows 2000.  When I exit QuickBooks, a
process remains running named QBDAGE~1.EXE with 7,408K of memory used.  What
is this?  Why does it keep running?  Is there any way for me to not have
this keep running?

Import/Export of non-List data

I have two standalone Quickbooks Pro 2003 installations(one at the office
and one at home).  I would like to perform banking transactions at one
system and then copy them to the other system.   I can do this with lists
(such as employees) but I don’t see how to do this with the checkbook other
than a complete backup and restore.  Is there a way to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Allan

Redo a Reconcile?

I went to do a reconcile and found the wrong starting balance. I know
things were correct in prior reconciles. I can only assume something
happened to old data to mess things up. The only logical way I thought
to correct this mess was to uncheck several months of work going back
in order to find the missing transactions that equal this amount. So
far I am still off by a large sum. Is this the best way to do this? It
is not easy going back. I have been unchecking and matching to bank
records.

QB Survey…..

Just to get a feel for how people stand on the issue of forced upgrades from
Intuit I thought I would throw the following questions out for
feedback/discussion:

1 – If your current version of QB would function as is for an unlimited
amount of time without ongoing fees (payroll, tax tables, email, etc) would
you continue to upgrade to new versions on a yearly basis or would you stick
with your current version indefinitely?

2 – Have any of the more recent features in new versions QB caused you to
want to upgrade?

Quickbooks problem anyone seen this?

I  have a client that copied his corp QB name and gl lists from his old QB
file. His old EIN number is appearing in the memo field of his tax liability
checks, and we can’t get it to change to his new number, although we have
changed it in "company info" screen. Also, we have tried changing vendors
and setting up a new vendor. Has anyone experienced this before.

Problem with unbilled costs

I have a client who is trying to clean up old unbilled costs. There are some
of these costs that we cannot get to bill to a customer, edit the bill, or
do anything to get them off the report.  We want to begin using the customer
cost billing function. Any ideas?
